    Background: SUCHITOTO

    Six journalists were released on 29 June 1982, after falling into the hands of El Salvador's guerrillas at the town of Suchitoto on June 28th. They were trying to cover the fighting for the time. The burnt out bus was stopped and set on fire by the rebels when the driver refused to stop, and fourteen passengers killed. Released British TV journalist, Julian Harrison, said that the guerrillas kidnapped them to explain their viewpoints.
