Background: The Spanish naval training ship, 'the destroyer 'Marte' arrived at Piraeus the port of Athens, Greece, Nov. 29 for a courtesy visit during a current tour of Eastern Mediterranean ports.
During a ceremony in athens to mark the visit, Commandant Perez, 'Marte's' captain, laid a wreath on the tomb of Greece's Unknown Soldier. Earlier, the Commandant and his officers made courtesy visits to the port and naval authorities.
During the visit, Greek naval cadets offered a warm welcome to Spain's future naval officers, and marched in parade with them at the end of the wreath-laying ceremony.
'Karte' has a complement of 29 officers, 225 crewmen and 104 cadets.
