  • Description

A two-man Dutch television crew who have just completed filming a documentary on the activities of MPLA rebels fighting the Portuguese Army in Angola held a Press Conference in Lusaka on Wednesday (June 16).

Speaking to African pressmen, they described how the guerrilla fighters are using weapons, uniforms and boots captured from the Portuguese. They displayed a piece of metal which they said came from a napalm bomb used against the guerrillas by Government forces. They showed leaves from a dead cassava plant, allegedly poisoned from the air by the Portuguese.

Their visit to Angola had been arranged by the MPLA Support Group of the Lusaka based organisation Africa, 2000.
