    An estimated 100 people were killed, and over 80 injured on Wednesday (27 January) when a passenger Express collided with a goods train in thick fog on the outskirts of the northern Indian city of Agra.. The engines of the two trains crashed head on. Of the 14 coaches attached to the Express, three turned over and seven more were detailed. It took rescuers a long time uncover all the bodies, which were then laid to rest outside the Railway hospital for identification by relatives. The injured were treated in three hospitals in Agra. Nearly 600 people were killed in the first eleven months of last year in accidents involving trains in India. The worst such accidents was on 1st June, when a train plunged into a river in Bishar province killing nearly 300 people.
