Background: Gary Cooper, cinema idol of millions throughout the world was buried May 16 in the city where he started his climb to a successful career, Hollywood.
A crowd of several hundred outside the Roman Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd was quiet and orderly as the "Film Capital of the World" paid its final tribute to a great person.
Inside, 500 stars and friends --admitted by card only-- heard the Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles eulogize Cooper as "unparalleled in the perfection of his art."
Besides the widow, Mrs. Veronica Cooper, and the couple's daughter, Marie, 24, among those who attended were: Raymond Massey, Edward G. Robinson, Cesar Romero, Robert Stack, Marlene Dietrich, Walter Pidgeon and William Demarest.
