Background: Playing on their home ground at White Hart Lane in London on Saturday (7th November). Tottenham Hotspurs convincingly beat Burnley by four goals to nil. The game moved at a fast pace on a rain-soaked pitch.
Although Burnley missed two early shots at goal they didn't lost heart, and kept up the tackling pressure for most of the game. However it proved to be Spurs' day, and after the half-time turn around they held a one-goal advantage.
Just 12 minutes into the second half Spurs went further ahead after a magnificent move which began with Peters and Kinnear. Chivers raced into position to hammer home his second goal. Greatly encouraged by this effort, Spurs kept up the pressure and...at almost point-blank range.....Perryman outwitted Waiters the Burnleyy keeper.
In the 71st minute of the game Toggenham Hotspurs took the score to four-nil with a goal by Gilzean. With this win over Burnley they now lie in third position on the First Division table, behind Leeds and Arsenal.
