PIERRE-PAUL SCHWEITZER: " The question has been raised by executive directors about the decision of who should be the next managing director, myself or somebody else. I have expressed my willingness to continue to serve until my sixty-fifth birthday if that was the clear wish of the directors. There is no use in denying it that the United States authorities have informed me that they took a negative view concerning my reappointment. It is not true that I have given in my resignation or threatened to do so at any given time. It is not a personal question of Pierre-Paul Schweitzer it is the question of the executive first as representatives of the whole membership to serve. The question of what will be in the best interests of the fund is the question which one would have to consider.
