Background: Two issues of intl. interest were due to come up in today's regular Cabinet session, which, because of the Jewish New Year holidays, was held this morning instead of on sunday. Housing minister Offer referred to the cabinet the issue of setting up housing for four more settlements on the Golan heights, because of the political implications of such a decision. Furthermore it is expected that various other cabinet members will raise the varying pronouncements both inside Israel and abroad, concerning a further possible interim agreement with Syria or even withdrawal from the entire Golan Height in case of a final peace-agreement with Syria. On later issue the opposition Likud party is recalling the Knesset from its summer recess and the session of the Knesset will probably take place right after the Day of Atonement.
