    A new park named "Henri Dunant" - founder of the International Red Cross - was officially opened Dec 12 in the Romena quarter of Jerusalem, Israel.

    Watched by a large audience, the Swiss Ambassador cut a ribbon to unveil a plaque at the entrance, and the party entered the gardens.

    There followed speeches by Mr. Tzur and Mr Leo Cohen of the Israeli Foreign Office, and many others, and several trees were planted by guests-of-honour.

    the park is situated near the border of the Jewish part of Jerusalem where the population mainly comprises new immigrants. The hills opposite are Jordanian territory.
