  • Description

A Hungarian medical team of three doctors and four nurses flew in to Lagos on Saturday (July 25) to help with Nigeria's post-war relief and rehabilitation programme.

Hungarian embassy officials at the airport to greet the team, which was led by Dr Gynla Rakonczai, said they would work in Nigeria for at least a year.

They brought with them a fully-equipped 100-bed hospital and medicaments, which will be donated to the Nigerian rehabilitation Commission.

The doctors and nurses themselves have placed their services at the disposal of the Nigerian Red Cross.

This was the first Hungarian group to arrive in Nigeria to help with relief work.
