United States Deputy Secretary of State Kenneth rush and A???letant Secretary of State Joseph Sieco ended their tour of southern Asia on Friday (27 April) when they flew home to Washington from Islamabad, Pakistan.
Before leaving, Mr. Rosh told pressmen that the United States continued to endorse the Security Council resolution on the question of the repatriation of Pakistani Prisoners-of-War and also the application of the ???va Convention
The previous day Mr. Rush had dined with Pakistani President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto after to hours of "very cordial talks" with Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Aziz Ahmed.
Mr. Rush and Mr. Sisco were accompanied on the trip by their wives. Shortly before planing out for Washington Mr. Rush told reporters that the appointment of a new US Ambassador to Pakistan could be expected very soon. He said: "We want to have a strong man in Pakistan".
SYNOPSIS: A tour of southern Asia was concluded on Friday by United States Deputy Secretary of State Kenneth Rush and Assistant Secretary of State Joseph Sisco when they flew to Washington from Islamabad Airport. Together with their wives they were escorted by Mr. Aziz Ahmed, Pakistani Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs and other Pakistani officials.
