Background: SYNOPSIS: The air-lift of British troops from Jordan is about half completed -- well ahead of schedule -- and the first men back in this country have landed at Lyneham in Wiltshire. They belong to the sixteenth Independent Parachute Brigade. As they left the aircraft on the way to their depot at Aldershot, their Commanding Officer, Colonel Beckett, talked to one of our reporters about their four months in Jordan.

Three aircraft landed at Lyneham today with about a hundred men. The rest of the Brigade will be arriving throughout the coming week. Many of them are going on leave straight away.
