  • Description

Hundreds of mourners held a religious service at the tiny Los Angeles church on Saturday where the body of ex-King Peter of Yugoslavia was lying in State. The ceremony was held in defiance of a court order banning the services because the King's family claimed it was against the dead leader's wishes.

Forty-seven year old King Peter the II had ruled for one-mouth as Yugoslav's boy-king in 1941. His 25-year-old son has said in London that he doesn't wish to succeed his father as ruler -in-exile. At the Los Angeles church a Yugoslav religious leader comments on the court ban:
Ex-King Peter had lived separately from his wife, Queen Alexandra, for 17 years.

SYNOPSIS: The body of Ex-King Peter of Yugoslavia lay in State in Los Angeles on Saturday. The ceremony continued in defiance of a court order banning services because the King's family said it was against his wishes. Bishop Iriney answered reporters questions.
