    FRENCH INFANTRY AND TANKS HEADED THE PARADE, FOLLOWED BY QUICK-STEPPING LIGHT INFANTRY OF THE ROYAL GREEN JACKETS. THEN CAME THE ROYAL ANGLIAN REGIMENT AND CENTURION TANKS OF THE QUEEN'S OWN HUSSARS.

    THE UNITED STATES CONTINGENT COMPRISED OF TWO BATTALIONS OF THE 6TH AND 18TH INFANTRY AND A MASSIVE DISPLAY OF M.60 TANKS AND THE 40TH ARMOURED CORPS. THE PARADE, WHICH TOOK NINETY MINUTES TO PASS THE SALUTING BASE, TOOK PLACE IN THE BROAD STREET OF JUNE 17, NAMED AFTER THE ABORTIVE EAST GERMAN UPRISING OF THAT DAY IN 1953.
