Background: The "Free China Relief Association of Formosa" is now busy making emergency food packs for dropping over mainland China. In Taipei factories, hundreds of girls are inspecting, weighing and packing the food packets, each of which weighs one pound and is made up of biscuits, dried fish, dried pork, dried pineapple and sweetmeats.
Along with food packets go pamphlets carrying a message and picture of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek. The packets are packed in plastic bags and attached to small parachutes.
The food packets from Formosa are being dropped over the mainland following reports of famine conditions in Communist China.
