    Background: A dual-based United States Army armoured cavalry squadron was flown from Washington to Germany on May 25 to participate in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) exercises with the troops of the Germany Bundeswehr.

    On June 6 the cavalry squadron began a field exercise with the German Panzer Division. The exercise, scheduled to finish today (Wednesday 9 June), was conducted to provide training and experience in dual-based operations.
