    CU Roger Bannister speaks:-

"Well, all I can say is I am absolutely overwhelmed & delighted, it was a great surprise to me to be able to dit to-day, and I think I was very lucky. In this country the weather is always against anyone running a good time. To-day, I thought the wind was probably much too strong, although we did have a light lull, so there comes a moment when you have just got to try, & I was very lucky to have my two friends, Chris Brasher & Chris Chataway who helped to make some of the running earlier on. and I certainly contributes a lot of it to their presence in the race which certainly gave me that extra spurt to go on."
