Two other leaders were killed in the fighting that followed the attack on the King's seaside palace during a reception for his 42nd birthday. The ten combined men were led from the barracks to the stake where they were stripped of their rank. The men were tied ten yards (meters) apart to posts. The execution was witnessed by representatives of the armed forces. Before they were shot the man shouted "Long Live the King, Long live King Hassan"
