  • Description

The President of Japan Airlines, Shizu Asada arrived at Dubai Airport on Sunday (22 July) where the Japanese Jumbo jet seized on Friday is still being held by its pro-Palestinian hi-jackers, with 140 hostages on board.

Japan Airlines said that fuel taken aboard the plane was enough to fly two hours and fifty minutes.

But JAL President Mr. Asada told reporters he did not believe the aircraft would take off immediately because the fuel was not balanced and the hi-jackers claimed they were waiting for instructions.

Dubai's Airport Manager, Mr. Abdul Halim Hatoum, in a briefing after the Japanese Airline party arrived spoke about the hi-jack situation. He said he believed it was a premature explosion which launched the hi-jack and caused the death of a woman hi-jacker soon after the plane left Amsterdam.

The blast smashed her body, splattering blood over the steward. Believing he was badly hurt the man fainted.
