    THE TRANSISTOR RADIOS WERE ACCEPTED BY THE SOUTH VIETNAMESE MINISTER OF INFORMATION, MR. PHAM THAI, AT A SIMPLE CEREMONY HELD IN SAIGON. THEY WOULD BE DISTRIBUTED TO HAMLET DWELLERS SHORTLY.
    SOMETIME AGO, AUSTRALIA HAD MADE A SIMILAR CONTRIBUTION. IN ALL, AUSTRALIA HAD CONTRIBUTED 800 TRANSISTOR RADIOS, AMPLIFIERS AND LOUD SPEAKERS WORTH SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND POUNDS.
    AT THE MOMENT, AUSTRALIA IS HELPING TO BUILD A FIFTY KILOWATT RADIO TRANSMITTER FOR RADIO VIETNAM IN THE BAN ME THUOT PROVINCE, NORTHEAST OF SAIGON. IT WILL BECOME OPERATIONAL BY THE END OF THIS YEAR.
