    West Germany swept the field at the 19th World Roller Skating Artistic and Dance Championships which ended in La Coruna, Spain on Sunday (1 September)
    The Germans took three gold medals, as well as a silver and bronze. The United States was second with one gold, two silvers and a bronze.

    The championship included mixed pair events, individual men and women's artistic skating, and pairs dancing.

    Competitors were from many overseas countries including Italy, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

    The mixed pairs event was won by the American, MacDonald and Sabo.

    The West Germans dominated the finals of the other events. Mullenbach won the women's individual event while Obrecht took the men's individual final. Henke and Donarf own the third gold medal for West Germany in the final of the pairs dancing.
