    Background: President Albert Bernard Bongo of Gabon held a series of talks in London today (Wednesday) with Foreign Office Officials and ???. President Bongo is in London on a four-day official visit.

    Today, the President first visited the House of Parliament, where he had talks with members of the British Branch of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

    In a busy round of engagements, President Bongo had lunch with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace, held talks with the Foreign Secretary, Sir Alec Douglas-Home and, with his wife, was the dinner guest of the Prime Minister, Mr Heath, at Number 10 Downing Street.

    It is believed that his talks with government officials today centred of African and other international affairs.

    President Bongo is scheduled to fly to Paris on Friday afternoon.
