    Chief Clemens Kapuuo, head of the Hereros, is on a tour to gain support for self determination for Namibia, the disputed United Nations territory in South West Africa which is administered by South Africa.

    Chief Kapuuo was in Bonn on Thursday (30 May) for talks with the West German Foreign Ministry. Just before the talks, West Germany reaffirmed its opposition to racism, colonialism and the so-called "homelands" policy being carried out by South African in Namibia. Chief Kapuuo, one of Africa's most important political leaders, was briefed on the Bonn Government's position over Namibia during his talks with the Ministry.

    SYNOPSIS: Chief Kapuuo had talks with the West German Foreign Ministry. He was briefed on the country's position over Namibia. The talks were described as open and friendly, but no further details were given. It's though in Bonn that Chief Kapuuo also discussed a recent offer to accept qualified Namibians for studies in West Germany. The visit is at the invitation of the Bonn Government.
