    Geoff Duke, Great Britain's motor cycle ace, world champion for 1951, 1953, 1954, 1955, has just commenced riding for Germany's renowned BMW organization.

    Today, riding a BMW 500 cc machine against tough international competition at the Hockenheim Ring, near Mannheim. Hockenheim is reputed to be the world's fastest track.

    An estimated crowd of 200,000 saw a tooth and nail tussle between Duke, Number 1, Dick Dale, Number 5, Dale had to give up because of engine failure, and Germany's Ernst Hiller moved into second place.

    The day's programme was concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
