The Chief Minister of the Seychelles, Mr. James Mancham, held talks on tourism with Kenya's?
The Chief Minister of the Seychelles, Mr. James Mancham, held talks on tourism with Kenya's Minister for Tourism and Wildlife, Mr. J.L.M. Shako, in Nairobi on Monday (17 January)--the second day of his week-long visit to Kenya.
Kenyan Government sources later revealed that a tourist package deal with the Seychelles could boost tourism in the whole of East Africa. Kenya's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Doctor Njoroge Mungai, had earlier said such an agreement would enable tourists from Europe or the United States to travel to the Seychelles for one or two days without much extra cost.
Mr. Mancham's visit to Kenya comes at a time when his self-governing islands have made it clear that they have no intention of seeking full independence from Britain.
