  • Description

Terrorists went on a bombing rampage in the city of Cordoba, Argentina, on Friday (17 October) to mark "Peronist Loyalty Day".
The Police Social Co-Operative was destroyed by a blast, two office buildings, a car sales room and several parked cars were also destroyed by bombs.
While loyalists were welcoming back President Maria Estela "Isabel" Peron in Buenos Aires after a month long "rest cure", the Cordoba terrorists were causing havoc.
Luckily, because of a work stoppage ordered by the General Labour Confederation (CGT) the streets were deserted and no-one was hurt.
President Peron used the occasion of her political comeback to declare war against left-wing guerrillas.
She said loyalists must support the armed forces struggle against left-wing subversion.
Some 169 Argentines died in guerrilla warfare and related violence during Senora Peron's absence.
Interim President Italo Luder set up a National Security Council to co-ordinate anti-guerrilla efforts and authorised the army to leave its barracks and attack guerrillas at will.
