Background: Eleven people were arrested today (Saturday, 26th Sept.) after over a thousand pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through London and clashed with police. The demonstrators were supporters of the Palestine Liberation movements and marched under the banner of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
The marchers handed in petition to the U.S. Embassy deploring American policy in the Middle East. They then set off for the Jordanian Embassy but met with a cordon of police, including some on horseback.
Eggs and sticks were thrown through the air at the police as they forced the back from the Embassy. Several scuffles broke out and the police began making arrests. Four girls were among the eleven arrested.
Two policemen were slightly hurt.
