    IN SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, STUDENTS HAVE BEEN STAGING THE BIGGEST DEMONSTRATIONS SINCE THE APRIL 19, 1960 DEMONSTRATION WHICH TOPPLED THE SYNGMAN RHEE GOVERNMENT. TENS OF THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS MARCHED FROM THEIR SCHOOL TO THE PRESIDENTIAL RESIDENCE AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WHERE THEY CALLED FOR THE PRESIDENT AND CHAIRMAN OF THE ASSEMBLY TO END THE PRESENT NEGOTIATIONS TO NORMALISE RELATIONS BETWEEN JAPAN AND KOREA. THEY ALSO DEMANDED THE RECALL OF CHONG PIL KIM, CHAIRMAN OF THE PRO-GOVERNMENT DEMOCRATIC REPUBLICAN PARY NOW IN JAPAN FOR THE NEGOTIATIONS.

    DEMONSTRATIONS SPREAD ALL OVER THE NATION AND THE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED THAT PRESIDENT PARK WILL MEET THE STUDENTS REPRESENTATIVES WITHIN A WEEK AND DISCUSS THE PROBLEMS.

    DURING THE THIRD DAY OF THE DEMONSTRATIONS, POLITICIANS IN OPPOSITION TO PRESIDENT PARK'S GOVERNMENT JOINT IN AN DEMANDED HIS RESIGNATION, AND THE IMMEDIATE STOP TO THE NEGOTIATIONS.

    AT THE BLUE HOUSE, THE PRESIDENTIAL RESIDENCE, SOLDIERS WERE ON EXTRA DUTY AMID WIRE BARRICADER.
