    Competitors from eight countries (Great Britain, Hungary, German Democratic Republic, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Sweden and the Soviet Union) took part in a diving contest at the Dynamo Swimming Pool, Moscow, September 27.

    Highlight of the occasion was the win by 15-year-old Brian Phelps, Britain, in the men's high-bard event. With a score of 153.03 - one point better than the winning score in the Melbour. Olympic Games - he beat the Soviet champion, Genadi Mezin, by the big margin of 15.23 points. Ditter, G.D.R., won the men's springboard diving.

    In the women's events, European champion Ninel Krutova, U.S.S.R., won the high diving. In the spring board event she was beaten by Ingrid Kremar, G.D.R., First, and British medical student Elizabeth Ferris, who took second place.
