  • Description

A selection of ready-made clothes for women, due on the Dutch fashion markets next year, were modelled, November 11, at Amsterdam, for an audience of home and Foreign Press representatives.

Accent was mainly on Dutch-made clothes, but fashions from Britain, Germany, Belgium, France, Sweden, Switzerland and Austria figured in the show.

The preview preceded the 16th 'Intermode' - a trade fair of women's fashions to be held in Amsterdam from November 16-19.

Beach wear - lastex swim suits, bikinis, casual loose coats and slacks, herald the coming of sunnier days. Sheath dresses in cotton satin and taffeta silk emphasize elegance for smart occasions. A tweed, collarless coat comprises between the loose and fitted fashions - both currently in vogue. It can be worn with or without a belt.

Summer dresses, rain coats, and day suits completed the 1960 prediction for "off-the-peg" fashions.
