    ABOUT 400 CONGOLESE CHILDREN WENT TO BRAZZAVILLE ON THURSDAY TO THANK PRESIDENT ALPHONSE MASSAMBA-DEBAT FOR THE MONTH THEY'D SPENT AT A HOLIDAY CAMP SET UP BY THE NATIONAL PIONEERS MOVEMENT OF CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE.

    THE "YOUNG PIONEERS", AGED BETWEEN SEVEN AND TWELVE, SPENT THEIR HOLIDAY AT THE CAMP AT POINTE NOIRE, AND CAME FROM ALL PARTS OF CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE.

    THEY CALLED ON THE PRESIDENT WITH THEIR INSTRUCTORS. THE PRESIDENT CAME OUT OF THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE IN BRAZZAVILLE WITH MEMBERS OF HIS GOVERNMENT AND A NUMBER OF OFFICIALS.

    PRESIDENT MASSAMBA-DEBAT SHOOK HANDS WITH SOME OF THE CHILDREN, AND THEY SAND AND DANCED FOR HIM.

    IN A SPEECH, THE PRESIDENT SAID: "OUR HOLIDAY CAMPS WERE SET UP IN ORDER TO TRAIN YOU WELL, A IN ORDER TO BRING YOU NEW IDEAS, OF UNDERSTANDING, FRATERNAL LOVE, AND FRIENDSHIP, SO THAT IN THE FUTURE YOU MAY BE ABLE TO TALK OF NATIONAL UNITY."
