    After a trouble-filled June 12 against Sikh demonstrators, Delhi police June 13 relaxed in the shade and totted up the list of weapons seized, among them: American-made tear-gas grenades, swords, knives and stones. Also seized: over 780 Sikhs among an estimated 15000 demonstrators demanding the formation of a separate Sikh State within the Inidan Union in Punjab.

    The demonstration - ruled illegal by the police that week - ended in a fierce clash in which 80 policeman were hit by stones or manhandled. It centred around the historic Curdwara Sisganji temple in Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi, Throughout the country many Sikh leaders were under arrest - under the Preventive Detention Act - since the movement for the formation of a Punjabi State became active in recent weeks. They included Tara Singh, president of the movement. It was his tenth arrest.
