REPORTER: "Mr. M'Boumoua, just a question on the independence achieved by Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique. What is the O.A.U. doing to help them stand on their own feet in the achievement of full independence?"

MR. ETEKI: "You know, this stand is certainly not new for O.A.U. When Equatorial-Guinea became independent we tried to help them for staffs, and so on, so that now if Guinea-Bissau or Mozambique needs our help -- our intervention -- we are ready to do this. First of all in appealing for solidarity of member states of Africa and to coordinating all international aid from institutions and so on. Anyway we are ready to try to do something for this forward step of independence."

REPORTER: "Now, on the question of arms sales, Jordan's arms sales to South Africa, what do you think are the implications regarding the African Freedom movement?"

MR. ETEKI: "You know I think it is not fair that an Arab country which is our friend -- you know, Afro-Arab cooperation is inter-related --- you know it is not fair that an Arab country give to our enemy of Rhodesia or South Africa weapons who can stop the activities of the freedom fighters in this area. So that I have already sent a message to the Secretary-General of the Arab League for protesting, and that is not good and so he will take the steps to stop this sort of thing. I think it is not fair... and cannot give the arms. African country cannot give arms to Israel to fight against Arab country. I think Arab country cannot...is not good to give arms to cur enemy."
