    SOME 1,500 DEMONSTRATORS MARCHED IN DISCIPLINED PROCESSION THROUGH THE STREETS OF BRUSSELS TONIGHT (8 JUNE) PROCLAIMING SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL. THEY WERE LED BY SUCH PROMINENT BELGIAN POLITICAL FIGURES AS FORMER FOREIGN MINISTER, M.PAUL-HENRI SPAAK, AND FORMER PRIME MINISTER GASTON EYSKENS.

    THE DEMONSTRATORS CARRIED BANNERS INSCRIBED "ISRAEL WILL LIVE", "NO MORE AUSCHWITZ", "DOWN WITH NASSER," AND "THE BLOCKADE IS AN ACT OF WAR".

    MEANWHILE BELGIUM'S SENATE (UPPER HOUSE) TONIGHT UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED A MOTION SUPPORTING THE GOVERNMENT'S EFFORTS TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS A RESTORATION OF PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

    THE MOTION CALLED FOR A GENERAL RECOGNITION OF ISRAEL'S RIGHT TO BE A SOVEREIGN STATE AND HER FREE ACCESS TO INTERNATIONAL WATERWAYS.

    ISRAEL'S ARAB NEIGHBOURS SHOULD ALSO OBTAIN GUARANTEES FOR THEIR SECURITY AND REHABILITATION AND RESETTLEMENT OF ARAB REFUGEES FROM PALESTINE SHOULD BE ENSURED, THE MOTION SAID.
