  • Description

Nigeria has presented the people of Dahomey with a complete set of printing equipment worth about 43-thousand Naira (about 28-thousand sterling).

The presentation was made last Thursday (May 16) during a visit to Cotonou by Nigeria's Federal Commissioner for Information and Labour, Chief Anthony Enahoro In a speech during the presentation ceremony, Chief Enahoro said the gift was the first step in the implementation of a cooperation agreement signed by both countries last year. The Commissioner said Nigeria and Dahomey were bound by ancient cultural, religious and ethnic ties which transcended all boundaries.

Chief Enahoro expressed the hope that the printing machines would not only increase the knowledge and understanding of the people of Dahomey, but would also expand awareness of the ties between the two nations and promote the welfare and dignity of Africans. The Commissioner also said that it was hoped it would soon be possible to extend the area of cooperation to include cinematography, radio and television and the training of information personnel.
