    An estimated 600 Iranian students marched through central London on June 20, protesting against the rule of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.The demonstration had been called by the Union of Moslem Iranian Students to mark the third anniversary of Mujahedeen leader Massoud Rajavi's declaration of resistance.They named June 20 as the Day of Martyrs and Political Prisoners.Chanting protestors carried photographs of relatives missing in Iran, and one, wearing a mask in Khomeini's likeness, carried a whip.Others were dressed in striped clothing symbolising prisoners' uniforms.Khomeini has been in power since March, 1979, when he returned to Iran in triumph after years of exile.Rajavi was at first allied to his government, but the co-operation turned sour and his Mujahedeen followers have since suffered numerous arrests and executions.Rajavi and Iran's first post-revolutionary president, Abolhassan Bani Sadr together founded, in June 1981, a "National Council of Resistance" based in Paris.The two leaders parted company in March this year, and the council has become a forum for Iranian opposition power struggles.It estimates that 30,000 dissidents have been executed and 100,000 imprisoned under Khomeini's rule.
