Liberia's new Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Theophilus Thomas, has presented his credentials to President Akufo-Addo at the Presidential residence... "Peduase Lodge" ... 20 miles northeast of Accra. He succeeds Mr. George Sherman, a former Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, who is now Liberia's Minister of Education.
SYNOPSIS: Liberia's new Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Theophilus Thomas, arrives at the Presidential residence "Poduase Lodge" 20 miles northeast of Accra, last Friday to present his credentials. One of his first tasks was to inspect a guard of honour.
Mr. Thomas succeeds Mr George Sherman.. now Liberia's Minister of Education.
President Akufo-Addo received his guest and listened to an introductory speech.
Mr. Thomas, presenting his credentials, spoke of the brotherly regard Liberians felt for Ghana and its countrymen. In reply, President Akufo-Addo spoke of the value Ghana placed on their relationship which.... he said... dated back over several decades of fruitful cooperation, respect, and a sympathetic appreciation of each other's problems. He also commended the Liberian Government for its role in the establishment of a West African Economic Community.
