TRANSCRIPT MR. PETER SHORE: "Mr. Chairman, friends and fellow countrymen. We are here on this platform today. People from all parts of the country. People from all political parties. And we've come together today on this platform on this issue....on perhaps the one issue that could bring so many different people to so many diverse points of ??? together. We're here because we share a common anxiety, a common ??? about the future of this country, about our prosperity, about our democracy. If we were to be so foolish and so abject if we were to sign the Rome treaty in the way the Government is intending to do.

Background: About 1,000 people gathered in London today to protest over British entry to the European Common Market. Speakers included trade unionists, members of parliament and representatives of farming organisations. Former Labour Minister, Mr. Peter Shore was among the speakers.

There was a large number of Pro-Market demonstrators at the rally.
