    REPRESENTATIVES OF ALGERIA, CUBA AND KOREA WERE AMONG THE SPEAKERS WHO ADDRESSED THE MEETING.

    PAULO JORGE, REPRESENTING THE ANGOLAN GUERILLAS IN BRAZZAVILLE, TRACED THE HISTORY OF THE REBELLION BACK TO THE LATE 19TH CENTURY. HE SPOKE OF THE FOUNDATION OF HIS MOVEMENT IN 1956 AND RECALLED THE UPRISING IN LUANDA ON THE 4 FEBRUARY 1961, WHEN PRISONS AND BARRACKS WERE ATTACKED AND THE SIGNAL WAS GIVEN FOR NATION-WIDE RESISTANCE TO THE PORTUGUESE COLONIAL POWER.

    OTHER SPEAKERS WERE THE VICE PRESIDENT OF ANGOLA'S POPULAR LIBERATION MOVEMENT, THE REV. DA SILVA; THE ALGERIAN CHARGE D'AFFAIRES, ABDEL ARIZ KORA; THE NORTH KOREAN AMBASSADOR, RY MAN SENK; THE CUBAN AMBASSADOR, DOS ANTONIO; AND THE CONGOLESE HOSTS OF THE MEETING.

    MEMBERS OF THE CONGOLESE SOCIALIST YOUTH MOVEMENT CONVERGED ON THE CITY HALL THROUGHOUT THE CELEBRATIONS WHICH ENDED WITH A TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION THROUGH THE STREETS OF BRAZZAVILLE.
