    The small town of Santee is the home of "Wings and Wheels", a museum housing the world's largest collection of antique aircraft and automobiles.

    Bevo Howard, a winner of six national and international precision flying titles, was the star performer of the "Fly-In" in his 1936 German-built bi-plane.

    SYNOPSIS: Vintage aircraft, gliders and World War One fighter `planes took part in a National "Fly-In" held recently at Santee, South Carolina as part of the celebrations to mark the State's Tricentenary. Santee is the home of "Wings and Wheels", a museum housing the world's largest collection of antique aircraft and automobiles. Miss Vickie Chesser, South Carolina's "Miss Tricentenary" added up-to-date glamour to the event.

    Bevo Howard, winner of six National and International precision flying titles, was the star performer in his 1936 German-built bi-plane. Howard performed 35 intricate manoeuvres, climaxing his display with an inverted run across the filed at a height of 15 feet (4.5 metres) to snatch a ribbon from the ground.
