    LOH, AGED 25, WAS MALAYSIA'S SOLE REPRESENTATIVE, BUT HE EARNED 14 POINTS TO TAKE THE TITLE FROM THE PRE-RACE FAVOURITE, ROBERTO LUNA OF THE PHILIPPINES.

    SECOND WAS STEVEN KAN OF SINGAPORE AND THIRD, ALBERT POON, OF HONG KONG.

    THE COUNTRIES TAKING PART IN THE GRAND PRIX WERE PHILIPPINES, BRUNEI, HONG KONG, JAPAN, MACAO, MALAYSIA, SINGAPORE, THAILAND AND THE UNITED STATES.

    CHAMPION LOH WAS AWARDED FIRST PRIZE OF 2,000 PESOS (ABOUT GBP200 STERLING) AND THE MARCOS PRESIDENTIAL TROPHY.
