    MR. KENNEDY. BROTHER OF THE LATE PRESIDENT, HAS BEEN SENT TO TOKYO BY PRESIDENT JOHNSON ON A PEACE MISSION AIMED AT EASING TENSION BETWEEN MALAYSIA, INDONESIA AND THE PHILIPPINES. FOLLOWING HIS TALKS WITH MR. OHIRA, THE ATTORNEY-GENERAL LEFT THE FOREIGN MINISTRY FOR HIS FIRST MEETING WITH PRESIDENT SUKARNO OF INDONESIA, HIMSELF IN TOKYO ON AN UNOFFICIAL VISIT.

    IT WAS TO BE A MEETING PRODUCING QUICK RESULTS. AFTER UNEXPECTEDLY SHORT TALKS, THEY AGREED THE MALAYSIA PROBLEM SHOULD BE SOLVED BY CONSULTATIONS, BETWEEN THE NATIONS INVOLVED. NEXT WEEK MR. KENNEDY GOES ON TO OTHER ASIAN CAPITALS -- MANILA ON MONDAY, KUALA LUMPUR ON TUESDAY, AND DJAKARTA ON WEDNESDAY.
