    Mrs Angie Brooks-Randolph, the Liberian President of the United Nations' General Assembly, met the West German Chancellor Willy Brandt in Bonn on Friday (July 24) at the end of her week-long visit to West Germany.

    During the 45-minute discussion the two politicians talked about current international political issues.

    The purpose of Mrs. Brooks-Randolph's visit was to inform West German officials about the needs of underdeveloped countries.

    Mrs Brooks-Randolph arrived in West Germany last Sunday (July 19) and visited Hamburg and Berlin before visiting Bonn for her discussions with Herr Brandt. While she was in West Berlin, she toured the border wall dividing East and West.

    At the wall, Mrs Brooks-Randolph mounted a wooden rostrum at the Brandeburg Gate, a former main thorough-fare between the two halves of the city, for a glance into East Berlin.

    Mrs Brooks-Randoplph left for Brussels on Saturday (July 25).
