In Jaipur thousands assemble in the streets to watch the famed procession of Godess parvati. The procession is taken out from the former Maharaja of Jaipur's City Palace and still retains some of the old world charm. They all come to pray to Godess Parvati for bountiful rains, women pray for long life to their husbands while young girls wish for '''good ''' husbands! Leading the procession this year were elephants decorated as usual in their best colourful ware from the former Royal Palace. Following the camels came camels. Then followed some of the ancient coaches and bullock coaches in which once sat the royalty of Jaipur. There were bands in the procession and of course the Image of Godess Parvati, carried on a palanquin by bearers dressed in red. But as the procession got half way through a sudden dark heavy cloud burst came and broke it up.
