  • Description

Travelling as an ordinary fare paying passenger, Queen Ingrid of Denmark arrived at London Airport May 4 to attend the May 6 wedding of Britain's Princess Margaret to Mr. Antony Armstrong-Jones. She was greeted by the Danish Ambassador to London and presented with a bouquet by his wife.

King Frederick, husband of Queen Ingrid, is unable to attend the wedding. On May 5 he had promised to attend a ceremony at a new monument raised in Copenhagen in memory of Danes killed in Allied service during World War two. Queen Ingrid is Princess Margaret's godmother.

The congregation will include members of the British Royal family, foreign royalty, friends of the Royal Family and Mr. Armstrong-Jones's family.

Among the 2,068 guests will be members of the Government and the Judiciary, representatives of the Commonwealth, Service Chiefs, diplomats and tenants on the Royal estate.
