Background: A programme of Cultural and Scientific Exchange between India and Bulgaria for 1972 and 1973 was concluded in New Delhi on Thursday (June 1). The agreement was signed by Professor D.P.Yadav, Deputy Minister for Education, Social Welfare and Culture on behalf of India. Bulgaria's representative at the ceremony was Professor Stefan Stanchev, First Vice-President of the Committee for Friendship and Cultural Relations with foreign countries.
The programme ???nvi???sages cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science, education, art, electronic media, agriculture, health and sports. In addition the agreement provides for an exchange of scientists, artists and sportsmen, as well as dance and music ensembles, art exhibitions and television programmes.
SYNOPSIS: In New Delhi on Friday, Bulgaria's First Vice-President of the Committee for Friendship and Cultural Relations, Professor Stefan Stanchev was greeted by India's Deputy Minister of Education, Social Welfare and Culture, Professor D.P. Yadav. The occasion was the sighing of an agreement concluding a programme of Cultural and scientific Exchange between the two countries for 1972 and 1973. Other officials from both government witnessed the signing.
Each of the signatories commented on the importance of the agreement and how the programme would bring the people of the two countries closer together. Envisaged is an exchange of scientists, educators, writers, artists and sportsmen, as well as dance and must ensembles, art exhibitions and television broadcasts.
The conclusion of the programme is the result work on the part of several agencies in both countries. The Indian minister said that the negotiations indicated the depth of good-will and understanding that exists between the two countries.
