For the second time in a month the population of Langscheid, including Canadian Military personnel and their families, have been evacuated to a 'place of safety' while bomb disposal experts de-fused ex-R.A.F. 5 1/2 ton 'tall boy' bombs Jan 22 found in the drained Sorpe Dam reservoir.
German explosives experts Herr Carl Zellerhoff and Herr Scheffler de-fused the two latest 'menaces'. The last 'tall boy'-dropped by the R.A.F. 'Dambuster; during a raid on the dam Oct 15.1944-was defused by Flt.Ltd. James Walters, an R.A.F. armaments Officer, and German expert Herr Walter Mitzke.
