    President Nixon left Peking for Hangchow on saturday (26 February) taking the opportunity during the two-and-a-half hour flight to hold further talks with Chou En-lai, the Premier of the People's Republic of China. Premier Chou and President Nixon Rad already delayed their departure for an hour to hold further talks in the airport terminal.

    President Nixon and Premier Chou flew on a Chinese-owned, Soviet-built airliner for the 750-mile journey to Hangchow--an ancient and beautiful city likened by the Chinese people and explorer Marco Polo, in the 13th century, to paradise.

    Four aircraft flew to Hangchow--President Nixon's 7047 jet, the Ilyushin airliner carrying President Nixon and Premier Chou, and two other Ilyushins with members of the Presidential party and American newsmen aboard.

    SYNOPSIS: President Nixon and Premier Chou were to hold further talks in the aircraft to Hangchow. After sanding one day in the ancient city, followed by another in Shanghai, the Nixon party leaves for the United States on Monday following the and of the first trip to China by a United States Head of State--a trip aimed at ending more than twenty years of hostility between the two countries.
