Background: 1700 young boys and girls from different universities of India gather in New Delhi, in gay abandon, at a Youth Festival organised by the government. President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad inaugurated the festival. Prime Minister Nehru also addressed the youth and called upon them to be disciplined and get attuned to the age of science and technology.
The youth are gathered in Delhi, from all parts of the country and there is great stress on the cultural aspect. Several groups from different universities present their dance items. Rock N Roll in its Indian form has its own impact on the youth who dance and sing to its rhythm. Boys and girls join enmass in it.
