    THE SQUADRON LATER VISITED SYDNEY AS PART OF ITS COMBINED TRAINING CRUISE AND GOODWILL MISSION. THE COMMANDER IS WORLD WAR-TWO VETERAN REAR ADMIRAL NAGAI. HE SAID HIS SHIPS WERE PART OF THE NEW JAPANESE SELF DEFENCE FLEET WHICH INCLUDED 485 VESSEL. IT WAS HOPED THE PRESENT CRUISE WOULD LEAD TO A BETTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN JAPAN AND ITS PACIFIC NEIGHBOURS.
